The Amount of Calories in a Burger

The Amount of Calories in a Burger

Burgers are a popular choice for many, either for a snack, a quick and easy dinner, or for a barbecue. However, few people know just how many calories are in their burger. This article will give you the rough amount of calories in a burger, and for fast food outlets as well. Enjoy.

Burgers are a nice and tasty treat every now and then. However, some people consistently eat burgers even as frequently as every day. This is unhealthy, and you will more than likely gain weight- which will lead to other health problems.

So do you know how many calories are in a burger? If not, do not worry, many people don’t. So i have decided to lay it out simply for you, which should hopefully be easy to understand. ( Just remember though, that these are rough guides!)

Calories In Frozen Burgers From A Supermarket:

Normally burgers come in packs of 12 from the supermarket. In one burger the typical values are:

270 calories in 1 burger. ( without a bun or other common extras like sauces)

Other nutritional information that i found quite interesting is that the saturated fat is around 9g per burger, which equates to 45% of the total values per day. This is based on a 2000 a day calorie intake.

Calories In A McDonald’s Big Mac:

Everyone has heard of a Big Mac, haven’t they?

The amount of calories in 1 Big Mac: 492

It also has around 10.2g of fat which is a fair amount of the daily intake.

Calories In A Cheeseburger From Burger King:

Burger King is very tasty and perhaps the cheeseburger is one of their best selling burgers.

The amount of calories in 1 Cheeseburger: 379

Also a Cheeseburger from Burger King has more fat than a Big Mac, with 13.4g of fat.

As you can see there are a fair amount of calories contained in these burgers, but what you have to remember is that with a Burger King and McDonald’s, you also have fries and a drink. These often contain many calories as well.

It is also not just the calories that people have to consider, but also the amount of fat contained as well, and the salt if it is shown.

I hope you now have a clearer idea about how many calories are in a burger, whether it be made yourself or from a fast food outlet. These are just rough figures, so they may have gone up or down since these were known.

Are you shocked by how many calories are in a burger, or not?

The burgers in the pics look really good. Thanks for sharing this with us. I don’t eat burgers as much as I used to eat them. I will have one every once in a while. It’s amazing that they have so many calories.

Also, consider not adding to many condiments to the burger
maybe thats why the calorie count is so high. Possibly don’t
add the cheese to the burger. I love burger king because they
broil there burgers. Thats healthy.
Never have an ordinary day.

I’m not a fan of burgers… Diet has been my lifestyle since I can remember myself, it’s an inseparable part of me. The pictures are great, they made me crave for food but… not hamburgers! I stick to my principles :D
